news from Gaastra:
Olli from
http://www.kitesurfing-kiel.de tested it already and wrote down his impressions.
If you can read German, go for it:
http://www.kitesurfing-kiel.de/kites/gx2/index.html
Here you can see that Gaastra doesn't follow the first trend with their carbon bar in the center of the kite at the tube.

and you can see that Gaastra has the front tube going around the tips, so this is like the X2 system.

It seems logical not to bend the tube quite so sharply!

kiteboarding.de has been in Cabarete testing Gaastra among other equipment. Locals have also been trying the new Gaastras. Everybody absolutely loves them in terms of performance and construction. A lot of thought has gone into the new kites and it shows! They should be available sometime Aug/Sept....

When dragging this kite by the leading edge, would it not cause a lot of wear on the tube? The X2 has kevlar reinforcement around the corner which seems very durable.
How good is the "batten" effect of the tube when it is bent like that?
Sorry I can't read German so I can't read the review...

I've flown the 16,5m² and it makes a very good impression so far, the tube is protected an the bening point..
greetings Buzzy
