Had my First session at the Glendowie Sandspit the other day. The Sandspit is in East Auckland and goes off in anything from the South. You can ride really overpowered here as the water is very flat. Out in winds gusting to 25 knots in cloudless skies...
Lugging all you gear to the launching spot is a major bummer and I wouldn't call it a good beginners spot (as some people found out).
