Following was required:

- safety leash for kite
- helmet
- impact protection vest

There was a discussion, if riders should be disqualified if they didn't use the a.m. safety devices, because some went out without helmet or vest, since they didn't have any.

IMO and of many others the safety leash has to be a must, but helmet and vest is up to the rider.
If he doens't wear a helmet or vest it is his/her choice for their own life, but not having a leash is not about their own life but also about the lives of others.
Therefore everyone had ti use a leash, but helmet and vest are up to the riders choice.

What does anyone else think about this?

Thank you for the information. Thilo has already responded to my email which is great. I was hoping to contact some of the competitors and get their views on working with the new requirements.
