On which kind of board can you edge best before the jump and jump
Higher ?
I ride on a TT of 140 cm and X2. I like the board well because I
can breake myself down when I am owerpowered. But when I take more
speed, I loose the edge.
But I have seen plenty of people in Mauritius on the new Naish Mutant 4.8 edging much more
at higher speed just before the jump.
Is this due to the directional board fins?
So : before the jump, can you edge better and JUMP HIGHER ?
- with a 140 TT (wake)
- or with a 140 Mutant
I know about the difficulties of the jibe. I have also read the mutant topics of this forum. There are really some funny discussions. But all I want to know is if one can really jump higher on a mutant. If so, The new Naish 4.8 could be interesting for me.
Thanks a lot
LARS

Does catman ride a directional or not.
By the way, what is the current hangtime record?
But I cannot compare myself to catman. Any way. eweryone of the 10 best riders can win a hangtime.

The hang time record was 8.89 seconds.
I don't know if it's broken.

I can deniately go MUCH bigger on my 4'11" Mutant, than I can on my little TT. But thats me, and I have ridden directionals much more than TT's. I find the fins really help me ride faster and hold my edge to the very last second before I take off. But then again those same fins get me overpowered in really strong wind, so the TT is more controllable then. But I still think I can jump bigger on the Mutant in 20 knots, than I can in 25 on my TT. Smooth water is important too.
