Ooops In the above posting I'm referring to the 12m X2.

In regards to the 7.5m replacement.... I also had a 7.5m AR5. I found the windrange of this kite to start from 15 knots and go up to the high 20's...

As I said before the X2 is a stable kite. Whether I get an 8m X2 or a 2003 8m AERO remains to be seen but I'm assuming the 8m X2 to be fast and able to be held over 30 knots.

I have comfortably used the 10m X2 over 30 knots.

Can;t say the same about my old 7.5 AR5. The X2 has mega depower, and is very efficient. This means it cleanly flies to the edge of the window. The old 7.5 AR5 used to jellyfish which pulled it back into the power reducing it's ability to stay under control in strong wind.

If you are happy to max out at about 30 get the 10mx2.

If you want to kite in 30-35+ then get the 8m X2.

I'm 75kg's but I use a 6ft directional board which doesn't require much power...

For wakeboarding you need far more wind...

Tested wind range for my 141cm lunchtray with 12m X2....

so far it's 15 knots to 25 knots but in constant winds and flat water that upper limit would increase for sure.

The 7.5m AR5 is good from 20 to 25 knots. Above that the kite is unstable and jellyfishes quite a bit. So the 8m X2 should handle far more wind than the 7.5m AR5....

Jellyfishing is when the the wingtips of the kite starting moving in and out. A lot of the time this is caused by underinflating the leading edge but in high winds it can happen for other reasons as well.

More of a problem with high AR kites but kites like the X2 don't have this problem (well my 12m X2 doesn't anyway) because they are so rigid.

One think I noticed with the 12m X2 is if you set the front lines on the back front line attachments, the max depower you have is quite limited, ie 20 knots is overpowered!

Yeah I think that setting is for the lighter days... ie the kite turns easier too on that setting....

The X2 is a very tuneable kite which comes in very very handy...

The windrange that I've experienced on the 12m X2 is so far 9 - 25 knots using two boards... I can hold 20 knots using my directionial and keeping the speed down...

Why dont u try a flysurfer warrior 16.5 or the new Psycho 15.5 in light winds!? They have lots of more power then the X2 20m, are cheaper , dont need to pump, do nice water relauch... U just dont have a reason to dont use it.

Dont Care!! Go PSYCHO!!
