just back from the beach where i discovered 3 bladders on my 2001 Cabrhina Black tip had decided to fail me. I did have spares but with the sun out & a force 5/6 blowing I had to get onto the water quickly. Luckly I had a reserve chute, 11m2 foil. Something I had not used for nearly a year & what fun. Just getting onto the water in 5min was great!!
I was out on a bus of a board, my old 6'8" directional & found that it flew. It was hard to dig the rail in but scooted along. Do large boards go faster? Not thought about it before so was curious if anyone knows.

Yikes you used a 11 squ m foil in force 6!!

No wonder you were flying along....

You'd need a SMALLER board bigtime...

As for speed. Bigger boards get going easier (well as a general rule anyway) but once planing the smaller directional boards are really fast (faster than the bigger boards).

One of the fastest boards out is a Manolo directional. It's small, got hard rails and kicks major ass....
