Curacao has great wind all over the island similar to Aruba. You will have a ball. Also right next door in Bonaire is where Sky Slovack comes from originally. Have fun. Aloha Royce.

I've been at curacao last februar, I didn't see 1 kitesurfer but i saw on the whole island 2 windsurfers... For Kitesurfing i think it sucks, sorry for hurding people their feelings but don't go there to kitesurfe, maybe when there are new facilities!!

Dude to say Curacao is not windy or a great spot is like saying that Maui sucks for windsurfing and Oahu sucks for surfing or that the DR is not a great kitesurfing place. Curacao is one of a handful of places in the world where it is windy everyday. Right now in Curacao it is blowing nearly 15k and its 6am.hERES THE WEATHER AT 7AM. 2002.09.13 1500 UTC
Wind from the E (090 degrees) at 16.1 mph (14 kt, 7.14 ms)
Visibility 7 Miles
Sky conditions Partly Cloudy
Temperature 89 °F (32 °C)
Heat index 109.0 °F (42.8 °C)
Relative Humidity 79 %
Pressure 29.91 in. Hg (1013 hPa)
By lunchtine it will be blowing 30.THEY ARE CALLING FOR NEAR GALE FORCE WINDS TODAY AND THE REST OF THE WEEK?????????? Check out the weather at.... http://www.meteo.an/meteo2/eng/index.htm
The place blows everyday, don't believe me go look at a map and tell me where the island is located. In the heart of the Carribean trades. Average winds are higher than Kite beach, closer to MAui wind speeds and it blows morning noon and night. To the guy who went there... bro go again, If its not windy there then you should take up golf because light winds will follow you around forever. Bring a samll kite down there or you will sit it out on the beach. As for only 2 windsurferes on the island....when did you go there 1940? The place rocks...uncrowded and great winds. PS as for more facilities...the best thing in the world is to go to a country or beach and be the first person ever to kitesurf there. Only someone who was learning or needed lots of help would want more facilities. Personally I look for less!!!
Uncrowded windy beaches and no one else kitesurfing......isn't that the definition of paradise? gO LOOK AT the average windspeeds...like for months on end it blows over 25k during the day.
http://www.meteo.an/meteo2/eng/reports/ ... b.htm#WIND The average wind direction is 094' that gives you about 74miles of coastline to explore. You are going to find paradise for kiting there guaranteed no doubt at all.

I agree with you there Royce, I too have seen the climatology stats..

Don't need anything but a jeep to get to the beach and preferably a kitesurfing bud. If none available I'll train one!
