Hi, I've got a 7' skypirate, a yellow 99 model. I've found that it rides really nose up if I'm not leaning forward real hard. Has anybody tried moving the straps forward a couple of inches??? Does it help much?

Thanks
Craig

Wow, for light wind you could try a bigger board (surf longboard even) or on your 7' with one or both of your feet out of the straps and a bit further forward than usual, going downwind until the board picks up speed, then put your foot/feet in the straps.
There's no way you can get going with the tail dug into the water like in the pic, looks like you're using killometrically long lines too, how long are they?
If you brake the board that way you'll lose all the apparent wind and sink even on a floaty board.

Or just wait for the wind to pick up, in which case the Naish will be too big.

Or just stop eating for a while.

Have fun.

I just bought the 8 ft. model last month for lightwind days. I weigh 185 lbs. I found that my initial footstrap setting in the middle range contributed to near spinouts on water launching at times. I noticed that a fair amount of the forward portion of the board was out of the water. I need to move all my straps all the way forward as well. That way at least I should be able to use more of the board's bouyancy.

yeah I do ride it with one strap quite a bit, but that leads to falling in a bit. I might add a back footstrap between the existing straps for light winds.

Those lines were only 30 metres. But now they're only 24 metres after an incident with a building

Thanks for the input guys
Craig
