Hi guys,

November is tough. I would say, if anything, stay NORTH of LA. Should be better than anything S. of LA. By November, the thermals get lighter, but we do get some clearing winds - cross your fingers.

If you are advanced, check out Topanga, Leo, C. Street, and maybe do a day-trip to Jalama. Whatever you do, make sure you are aware of the fact that each one of those spots is crowded and the politics is sensitive. So stay away from surfers, and listen to the locals. The locals are cool and will always be willing to explain.

If you are a beginner, go to Belmont. No waves, steady winds, warmer water, sand for a mile...

Bring your big kites, because if there's no clearing winds, you're looking at light thermals.

Hello Boaz,
if everything goes smooth I should be there for same time!!! over a year.
My kite quiver is X3 18-14-10.
Should be OK.
My biggest problem is that after 15 years in the tropics, I don't like the cold!!!! even here in Bali when everybody say is warm for me is cold...
I know that in California the water is pretty cold.
I would like to come prepare with the right wet suite!!!
I have a 2/3 mm long, do you think is enought?

Hi J.,

You'll most likely need a 4/3. Stop by the shop when you get here, I'm sure we have something you could borrow. No need to buy (I have about 5 wetsuits from the past few years which I've tested and decided not to use for one reason or another).

By the way, 10,14,18 X3 is the most popular config. around here as well.

If you're going to be in the LA area for a while (Nov - Feb is our low-wind season) you should consider a trip to La Ventana (where from Nov - April it's even better than the summer in LA). It's only about 2.5 hours by AeroCalifornia jet from LA to the La Paz airport, & then a 45 minute shuttle to the beach.
