I think they put it there because this way you c an fly it with a 5th line.
Maybe they also have a new safety comming which requires attachment points. Better to put it on then not having it and they invent something new and can't attach it...

we will see.

The tabs are to install a 5th line attachment for relaunching big kites on water or all kites on the snow. The tabs are a pretty standard feature
now days. Let me know if you need help creating a 5th line.

Cheers,
Michael

I am interested on how to create a fifth line.
How can you combine this with the Scepter Bar?

i use 5th line successfully on my R410 and R420. i attached a couple of mini-pigtails to the attach points which are easily removable for water sessions.

clearest instructions are at

http://www.kitesnowboard.com/Content/Me ... setup.html

i use Q line with a very long heavy leader for pulling for the relaunch. bowline the leader to your stationary sheeting strap loop so that you have about 6" of slack when your bar is totally sheeted in.

take care to keep it from tangling with your sheeting strap / leach operation.
