I am happy with my kites but what ticks me off is that people like you try to push crap which simply isnt true. Then people who dont know better read this crap to see what they need to buy and end up spending over 1000 euros for a kite that wont do the trick.
If all this was so irrelevant and pointless why are you supporting it? You are obviously happy with your lightwind solutions too - so go and fly em and dont waste your time with me.
And im not saying you are dumb or anything - i just pointed out that you didnt do the math. Thats not to say weighing the bag makes any sense - at least not when it comes to flying the kite - i agree there.
In any case, dont shift around from your previous claims -> modern, big LEIs weigh less than modern, big foils. Dont tell me when you construct something thats supposed to fly, carry its own weight and then some, that its own weight is of no importance. Im afraid for that kind of logic i lack understanding.
Are you really happy Mark, every thread on this forum that mentions foils, or light wind kite performance, has replies from you in it?
If you took your own advice you would not be doing that, but then again you did say you were ticked off?.
Airplanes are designed to carry weight, kites, that we all like to use are designed to provide lift, and provide a tractable force that allows us to sail.
It is important to know how many bags and bags of flesh a plane can carry, it is not important how heavy a kite bag, bar, pump, repair kit is.
I replied, to your posts, becuase of the same reason you say you are doing it, to help spread the truth about big kites. You do not have to pay 1000US for a good big kite, Best kites are here now, but if you want to fly FS kites, you do have to pay even more than that, and the performance of the bigger FS kites still lags behind the big 2004 inflatos, smaller FS kites do work fine, but are not going to suit everyones style.
For people new to kites they do a lor better on inflatos, simply because they are a simpler kite to set up and fly. Bridled parafoils are a nightmare for people who have never been near kites before, and even some that get extensive lessons on them never really get on well with them. I know because I have been selling them and teaching people on them for 10 years.
Now just because I am so stupid, where did I say "modern, big LEIs weigh less than modern, big foils"????
I think it was you who was trying to be misleading by quoting the weight of a complete R04 20M, and comparing that with a FS kite.
Some of you foil flyers sound like christian evangelists, out to convert the heathen inflato flyers, if you like you large or small water, bridled parafoil, great! They are not for everybody though!
