Problems with the tendons in palm of hand / fingers

Postby PLTNorway » Mon Mar 29, 2004 3:55 pm

After kiting every day, and for several hours a day, last week, I've had pain in the palm of my hand. Especially when streching the tendons in fingers, or pressing down on the tendons. I'm afraid it could be tendinitis?!

Does anybody have any experience with this?

Common problem in the biceps. Are you sure its not fromWanking? I use to have this problem when I was 16! Kidding.....really.

Try relaxing your grip, dropping your hand more often to increase circulation (like rock climbing), getting your kite to turn faster, getting a longer bar. I haven't heard of this.

If its a median nerve problem (carpel tunnel) from over use, you'd have numbness in your thumb and pointer finger. Any numbness? David.

Yes, I think you may be hanging on to the bar too hard. Make an effort to take one hand off the bar when cruising. Even try taking both hands off the bar for brief periods (if you cannot do this, then you probably don't have your kite tuned right). It will teach you that you don't need to hang on so tight all the time.

Hope this helps.

Get yourself either the new Voodoos from Flysurfer or the new Psycho2s. They have the lowest steering and powering up forces on the market by far.
I had the same proble with previous kites and once you have it it always comes back. With the new Flysurfers however I can ride for hours and do lots of one handed jumps without straining anything.
I believe these are the only two kites(and the Spirit) which won't give you tennis elbow or wrist.
