TEST ZONE - MONTPELLIER

The start of our French test zone was organised on the beaches of Montpellier, base of several French kite brands.
After a long period of cold and no wind, we brought over the conditions of former test weekends.
On Friday we selected the beach of Le Boucanet, which is between La Grande Motte and Le Grau du Roi.
The western wind entered side from the right and brought over 20 degrees.
The first feelings of spring gathers around 80 kiters on the spot, as only one or two spots work with that kind of conditions, crowed house.
The beach is about 20 large and protected by a wave breaker on the right, on the left side the beach is clear for about one mile. This makes the spot quite accessible.
The first day all sizes less than 15m2 were used, even in the afternoon some lightweights guys had a ride with the 5m2.
On Saturday and Sunday we quite had the same situation, although there was a little less wind, around 20 knots.
On Monday the wind turned north and temperatures dropped about 10 degrees, the Mistral witch came from the mountains made the conditions glacial.
Northern wind only enters on the beach of Plage Sud, which is located nearby Porte Camargue.
A huge dune separates the car park from the spot, the beach is about 40 large and 200 long, protected on both sides by wave breakers, and also on this spot you can a lot of traffic jams.
Wind was blowing between 20 and 30 knot and the biggest size used was an 11m2.
For the land based sports there is a nice beach 5 km more to the east, L’Espiguette.
The beach is about 400 m large and you can discover the Camargue by the buggy.
Again a successful test weekend.

Thanks for this updateMelloW. It's time we started seeing a bit more posting from France.
I was thinking of going down to Beaduc next weekend (09/04), now you've convinced me.
Better dust off my old full wetsuit. At least there won't be so many mosquitoes this time of year!
