those hard cover golf bags are there in different sizes (Half set, full set, full set +, etc). I don't know where you live but just check it out in a "normal" golfshop.. will be bad for image, but then you know it it fits.

There's a half inch of foam padding on the bag, also the board can be secured with an adjustable strap. It sits in the middle of the bag so it doesn't touch on the edges. If your still worried about your board getting damaged with all that, you need a more durable board.
The kites should be fine, assuming nobody takes a knife to the bag.
I think the strap for securing the board is an important feature that you'd find lacking in a standard golf bag. Also, when I checked in they asked if my golf bag was a hard case or not. I wonder if they maybe charge extra for them?
