I'm gettin ready to buy my first kite this season. I live in Ontario, Canada where the winds are on an average between 5km/h to 25km/h. I weigh 150lbs and am a wabeboarder, so I imagine that'll be my riding style.

What size kite and brand do you think I should look at, that would cover most days? I learn fairly quickly and want to makes sure I don't pick up something I will outgrow in a season. I also will do some riding in Miami Beach area a couple of times a year.

Thanks for any info...

Hey mikethejeepguy.

Since your a canada boy, are you going to be riding in the snow this winter too? I'm sure once you get addicted to kiting you'll want to take to the frozen lakes too. If you want to be economical, I'd get something you can use in both instances. I could tell ya what I like, but if you still want to do your own research, keep that in mind when you drop fat cash for a kite!

Okay cool! I'll do that for sure. I'm so excited to get started. Just ordered my Airush 3m trainer. :D Looking to be on the water by summer!

Make sure and take lessons before flying your kites yourself. You may be able to find a lesson closer, but Tim Blanchard is great in Belle River, Ontario, http://www.surfculturecanada.com/

Consider taking a lesson before buying your kite and you can use the instructor's equipment for free.

Consider buying from bestkiteboarding.com, but also used gear.
