I plan to buy 3 best kites (2 for me 1 for a friend)
we are both beginners, my current kite is a magic 12m2 (wind range 12 / 18 knots) and i weight 73kg.
which kite do you recommend to me?
first one :yarga 9 or 11m2?
second : yarga 16.5 or nemesis 16m2? (i think 18m2 should be too difficult regards to my level)
is it possible to have only one bar for my whole quiver (55cm)
last question which line length do you recommand?
I'm sorry to post another best post
Thanks
Siger

I would get a yarga 7m and a Nemesis 16m.. just personal preference! I'd say forget the 18m for your weight (I weigh the same).
For your smaller kite you should get a 45cm bar. For lines I recommend 27m, they are the middle of the road when it comes to lines. If you want to ride waves, then shoot for 20-23 m.
Good luck!

haven't ridden (rode? / flew?/) the yarga but i surely wont recommend a 7m kite to a
beginner - certainly not in your wind range
i guess the 12 and 16 (nemesis (which i've tried)) or the 11 Yarga and Nemesis 16
but whatever you choose - i don't recommend a 7... its too nervous and dangerous to begin with (anyway - in 18k max which you've stated, you will not get anything from it)
good luck...

The 11m Yarga & 16.5m Yarga will cover you for quite a bit of range. The 11m is very foregiving and the 16.5 feels like you're flying a 14m, so that would be my advice for a beginner/intermediate if you were only getting 2 kites.

But he already has a 12m.... I based my calculations on that :|
Gumball, is the yarga 7m that difficult to handle???

If it was my choice I would go
9m Yarga
12m you have
16.5 Yarga
Providing they all measure as stated, a 11m Yarga would surley be to close to the 12m. A 7m needs loads of wind and you would have a big hole, 12-7 is a 5m gap, which is massive on small kites.
I would not of thought a 7m hard to handle just to small, unless you get very strong winds often.

Ah, if you have a 12m magic, which is a good beginner kite, go for the 9m yarga & the 16.5m yarga. The 7m isn't too hard to handle, it's incredibly stable for a small kite and it's actually Andy Hurdman's favorite kite in the whole line up - he rode it almost exclusively in the Islamorada Invitational last month from 20 to 30 knots. But, I think the 9m Yarga, 12m Magic & 16.5m Yarga make for a nice quiver and you can get away with one 55cm Best Carbon Bar with all the kites. In fact, I ride all our kites on a 55cm bar, from the 5m Yarga to the 21m Nemesis. Shannon rides all our kites on either a 45cm Best Carbon Bar or a 38cm Best Pulley Bar - to each his own...

Given the windrange of the kites mentioned.. I thought the 7m would be more proper... I have a nemesis 12m and was thinking of getting a yarga 7m. Maybe I should think better and get a 9m? Although I thnik there's quite a bit of overlp that way

i'd recomend a second bar,
its always nice to have a back up in case a line snaps, chickhen loops/centre line breaks. lines get twisted/knotted and it's going off.

Siger said his 12m is good from 12-18 knots. I think some thought he kites in 12-18 knots.
I weigh about the same and wouldn't use a 7 Yarga in less than 25 knots. If Siger plans to stay on a big begginer board for a while he might be able to use the 7 Yarga in about 20 knots. But, like others have said, there is a big gap between 7m and 12m kites. Therefore, I recommend the 9 Yarga and when you want to get a smaller kite, you can get a used 7 cheap and small older kites are good compared to large older kites especially.
