Pre event press release, PKRA Austria

We’re getting closer…closer to the most pressing issue of 2004………. What will the winning style of the PKRA Tour be this year?
Last year wakestyle had a totally new life growing into kiteboarding with Martin Vari ahead of the game. The year before (2002) it was Mark Shinn who took the board off maneuvers into a different world. What will this year bring new to the sport, and more interesting still, who will be leading the charge?
The established riders have been refining their tricks, the young riders have been learning fast and there’s a whole new breed of unknown rippers out there trying to make it into the kiteboarding world.

However this year’s freestyle will evolve, the PKRA tour has a trick up its sleeve with a whole new discipline. For our first event in Podersdorf Austria and as second category of the event we will put a slider into the lake and have the riders show the public and judges what they can do on the slider instead of the usual best freestyle trick format.

Who will be there?
The best kiteboarders of the world will be attending the first event of the PKRA world tour, from every part of this globe riders will come to compete against each other.
Last years overall ranking determined the 6 pre seeded women and 12 pre seeded men for this event.

Cindy Mosey, Ingrid Koellbichler, Petra Goeschl, Kristin Boese, Suzi Mai and Fiona Wedenig are the girls looking relieved they won’t need to make the trials and for the 12 pre seeded men it will be Martin Vari, Andre Phillip, Mark Doyle, Will James, Jaime Herraiz, Aaron Hadlow, Abel Lago, Giani Aragno, Sky Solbach, Mark Shinn, David Tyburski and Christian Brouwer

With two different disciplines there will be something for everyone, freestyle and slider heats and for those that aren’t so competitive and just want to have fun, there will be parties every night. The Podersdorf parties are known over the whole of Austria and people come from over the country to see the riders and party with them.

Be there and have fun!
