Waist harness: which one to get?

Postby Richie » Wed May 05, 2004 8:15 pm

At the momemt I am using a seat harness (Naish) but I wanna get a new waist harness.

Can you give me some advice or share your experiences about waist harnesses?

Thanx!

Stay with seat. Tried waist as well but never felt comfortable with it. Seat is relaxter kiting because of the free upper body movement. Just a matter of tastee though.

recently got an '04 dakine tabu waist and im really stoked on it. doesnt ride up as bad as other waists ive rode, and the way the spreader attaches to the harness works very well.theres no webbing touching the metal of the spreader so you dont have to worry about wearing it out, its all metal to metal where it counts. it also feels very light, but its built bombproof. never rode a seat harness but it seems like its all personal preference, but if you want to switch to a waist, go with dakine their new shit is awesome

another vote for the dakine tabu '04. It definately gets the job done.

I would never suggest buying a harness without trying it on first though, as body types are all different.

Does anyone have any experience with the 04 Daine Pyro waist?
If so, how is it compared to the tabu?
Thanks,

I prefer the pyro over the tabu its way more comfy , but the pyro's are a little weak in my experience i had one belt tear away after a year , brougth a new harness and the new one lasted about 5 sessions before it did the same thing, im trying to get them to repair it for me becuase the tabu seems to be angled wierd , just digs into my back, maybe im a wierd shape but the tabu hurts, 75kg rider :(

Personally, i think the new Da Kine Pyro kicks ass. It is super comfy and it does not ride up on your back! As mentioned before, try different harnesses on and see how you like them, but i say STICK WITH DA KINE!
It is the way to go!

Are there advantages to one harness style over the other or is it a comfort fit choice?

there are big differences on the type of waist, the Dakine Tabu offers a hard supportive harness, whereas other, such as the Naish fit the body more as they are softer....its a personal preference/back problem related decision !
