That's if you enjoy cruising. (Some do)
I recomend Huge Kites and med length very wide boards so you can play.
I just purchased a Hana Crew D2 130 mm by 49 mm
With my Naish V4 25 I should be jumping as early as anyone my weight could.
Flat water helps so you can get your speed up.

Joel,
Any comparison between the D2 and the Sattelite or the Naish 134 TT? You seem to have the cutting edge lite wind toys first.

I weight 60 kg.
nitro14 / big old twin tip - unknown brand
Other kiteboarders just watch me, sitting the beach...
...sometimes (when they see the 14m2 kite flying..) someone take is chance... heh he he... he.. he he.

I agree with Joel. I would rather be on a short, wide board and a big kite than riding a small kite with a big surf or directional board. I have tried both and I like the power a big kite provides. Plus, I live in a place where the wind is often gusty and light. The big kite helps you get through the lulls and goes big in the gusts. When you ride with a smaller kite and a big board, the jumps are not much fun during a gust because you have a tank strapped to your feet or worse no straps = no jumps.
I just bought the Satellite, haven't tried the Hana Crew or Naish 134 TT.

grr.. I know.. there is one teen boy there that beguns to learn kite since not even two months and he's geeting real good very fast..
I think next no wind summer days I'm finished..
.. but I don't think He 'll be in the big waves before next chrismas ! ..yeepah! .. hum...
