I remember reading 100,000 in a magazine article... that was about 6 months ago.

This topic has come up before. I think we concluded that there are maybe 100,000 to 200,000 kitesurfers in the world. This was derived from estimates of worldwide kite sales.

Hey ive got an idea. lets all like, gather at this beach, and then like all launch our kites and have kite wars. Last kite up wins! i can see it now... yeah ill go back to my hole now

This number worldwide or in any country is the biggest
there is.
We will never know this, and I don't think we can depend on given sale numbers by companies....

The AWSI (association of wind sport industries) is supposed to be putting out a report on this at the end of second quarter to include;
market size
segment size
growth and product trends
