Anyone tried this? Specifically does it swivel?

Actually trying to find a wichard derived safety with an easy to find toggle (ie probably doesn't swivel - I use a swivel with a bearing above the depower strap). I used to use a wichard but lost it and wasn't really happy with the difficult to find dangly toggle that I put on it. I then went back to a standard Takoon/Globerider QR which I recently found did not release under force, although it was really easy to locate. The RRD set up (as shown on flysurf.com) looked like the best of both worlds but I haven't managed to track down someone that stocks it.

Failing that can anyone describe how they have put a bolted toggle together and how you keep it at the right side of the gate (other than just a piece of rope which I didn't really like? (I have tried searching the archive before anyone suggests that).

I would really like to find (and pay) for a solution that doesn't depend on my engineering skills! Anymore news one the kite specific wichard?

Thanks in advance

Ramo

Hi Ramo,

About the RRD setup, you can find a way to do it yourself...

Using the bouble bowline knot...

If you need a bigger trigger on the wichard, you can use a metal ring, that allows blindfolded reliable releases.

And more about all of this, in French though, but maybe the pics would be helpful enough

check how the Wichard was integrated in the X-Shooter Masterpiece Bar.
Go to http://www.x-shooter.com and click on the bar picture.
There you will find links to the manual and gallery to see details.

One of the best quick releases (if not the best):

check http://www.jnkites.com

I have no relatioship with jnkites, I personally use Wichard quick release.

Don't use pin releases, under load they are very hard to release and
often they fail (I don't understand how they are allowed).

nice link bragnouff.
I have the wichard also, but my homemade chickenloop is a mess. Really like your solution. Will try to copy it this weekend.
