Flysurfer extension lines

Postby Tunico Lage » Thu Jun 24, 2004 2:32 am

Everybody is talking about how adding extension lines to the Psycho2 can improve low end.
Does Flysurfer sell ready made extensions? or are we suposed to make then?

Flysurfer sells ready made extensions, contact your local flysurfer dealer and he will order them for you. I just ordered a psycho 2 13 meter with 10 meter extensions for lower wind, i will let you know how it works out. I'll have it in about two weeks

they can easily be made by yourself or just order from your FS dealer however on the larger kites the center line is thicker line for the extra loads

NPR, what is a good way to quickly connect-disconnect the extensions?

Hi Andres,

I made my own 10m lines using Q power , seems to work OK

One end of the extention has a normal larks head, make this by using a figure 8 knot, not a bow line knot

The other end has 2 double 8 knots tied into itself forming a largish knot that you can then tie the larks head from the standard FS into. This allows you to undo the standard P2 line settup just below ( 4m) the wac and full brake settings and add the 10 lines into the standard setup.

very quick and easy.

For the 26 m I was thinking of making up a full new set lines with and flying the kite always with 40 m lines all the time as you only use this kite if you have wind less than 10 knots.

Just order 2 P2 26 for my pal and me!

Postby funtiger » Fri Jun 25, 2004 8:40 am

Having a ball on the P2 21, but lacking the jumping fun in 6-8knts I desired to also go for the P2 26.

Perfect quiver now with the P2 17 and P2 10

6-12knts, 12-20knts and above 20knts on the 10

The extension lines, I prefer the fs lines since they have cero stretch, which I can not get if I make them myself.

I always slip them through the hole and fix them on the thicker bar lines since the above described way of largish knots failed twice on me! The time lost in failure will let you fix the lines the slower way 100 times...

Just my subjective opinion
