Kitesurfing spots Mission Beach/Bay area San Diego?

Postby Vin » Wed Jun 30, 2004 3:38 pm

Going to be in the mission beach area for a few weeks in July (traveling from the UK) and will be taking my kites and board.

Does anyone have any info on local spots...likely wind strength?
(kite shops worth checking out)

Cheers,

Vin

good luck. I've been in San Diego for two weeks now and the wind has been almost nonexistent. 10 knots seems to be an epic day here. Oh and make sure your gear is not in your car/in sight for long periods of time. My car just got broken into overnight and almost all my gear was stolen.

On the other hand, if San Diego has wind, it is awesome down here as this city is beautiful (my hometown). If you paraglide, you have a better chance of soaring of Torrey though!

good luck!
