I tested the 9m at the Gorge, and it is super sweet. Handles the gust incredible well with a new system called split strut wich aparentely was made for gusty winds like the those of the Gorge.
The thing is, I was riding another kite brand that day (same size) and I was doing pertty bad because it was super gusty and I wasn't use to it, UI came out and was complaining about the conditions and a couple of guys that were testing the Slingshots lend me one of they're kites....Incredible, the difference was enormous, if I had the $ I would have bought it right away. That's the only thing I can tell u. "One day with a Slingshot" :D

I guess if you can't beat the BEST, imitate it right?

This is Keith from Montana Kite Sports...glad you enjoyed the 9m! You were throwing some sick 1080's that day! My email is montanakitesports@yahoo.com if you are interested in picking up a kite! Also, if you want to try out snow kiting this winter, our season starts in November!

I've never riden a Slingshot untill that day, and and that day only, I can only compare with other kitebrands I had, wich are quite a few. This guy Keith from Montana Kitesports can help you there, he's a really cool guy.
Sorry I can't help you there, all I know is about the split strut system, which aparently is something new on kite design.
Cheers

Slingshot has split sprut in the '04 too so I don't think it's new, or maybe it has the same name but it's more like a updated version?
