You can see a pic on
http://www.liquidforcekite.com.au/bars_ ... erlock.htm

One of my friends got the LF 05 Bar and its the same powerlock as my Cab bar. Only it doesnt have the 2 pieces of black foam on the side leader lines.

It does have a spinning leash that`works okay... sometimes with a bit of assistance.

Good construction, good bar. Good idea to get this if you're after the Cabrinha Powerlock coz the spinning leash works for every kite, unlike the recon bar. You have to be hooked for the leash to work tho.

I think this system is old-fashioned. Try one of the leading concepts like North Scepter bar or X-Shooter bar.

This is not a post of what do you like!
I try all bars and I keep my powerlock on every kite of different brand I use!!!
This is personal taste. I used the slingshot but is really nothing special.
Who like the powerlock know what I'm talking about.
My problem is that I don't like the way the Powerlock 2 looks like and I'm happy that Liquid Force will kep using this style so that they will still be available.
I use north kites that I like very much but not the bar.
Is not innovative at all as it copy the concept of be able to lock on a certain position. But the hook come of or catch when you less you expect.

If you like the powerlock function it is a very good no gimmick bar.

It is not intended for riding 'on the stopper' as this will break the fitting!
As happened yesterday at one of our local beaches!

Also be aware of the spinning leash - which is great but I use a suicide as well in case of coming unhooked accidently.

Since were in the topic of bars, IMO the simplest and most efficient bar out there is the Globeirder bar...it has a totally invisible spinning leash, almost feels like your riding leashless, three safety releases, one to release the bar and stay leasehed and the second is for totally letting go of the whole kite for whatever reason you have to...3rd. is for the harness loop....leash is also a center line leash.

Great design...new for 2005 is the adjustable length of the bar by 10cm.
Front lines never twist.

Clean and simple.

Sorry Kurt,
the powerlock is designed to ride lock on the metal fitting...
That is the all point of this design.
What you have absolutely to avoid is to spin the bar when lock on and they recommend also when jumping.
I broke 3 chicken loop in 2 years!! That is not too bad, now I change them regularly every 3-4 months to avoid breakage as you can't see when the internal rope is damaged.
My last chicken loop is a Liquid Force '04 and so far is holding pretty well.
To avoid to loose the kite a fit to my bar also the Naish UDS and together they work fantastic...

I know that but some guys still ride on the stopper and use the powerlock
for over sheeting and hang at the apex of their jump - that's what I was getting at!
