hi, Do you think that a light weight rider (135lbs) needs a kite to be more forgiving with less lowend torqe. I am almost never underpowered but feel uncomfortable in gusty overpowering conditions. What would a mid aspect kite be like I wonder. I've always owned very high aspect kites. like EH and X2.
What kind of kite would you recommend?
What aspects of a particular model kite change relative to the size of the kite (14m compared to an 8m)besides the aparent speed/turning factor of course.
Is adding a 5th line on a 7-8m kite going to make as big of a difference in stability as adding one to the same model 12-16m kite?

I'm 135 Lbs,
I'm using Best Nemesis 8m for strong wind ( 25 knots and more), the Performance is great!
There is no need to use 5th line in this kite.

At 110lbs, I find the north vega 8m really depowers well for me. A bit on the fast side, but very forgiving in the gusts.

the deisel 7 m is sick for me. i weigh about 130. with the auto pilot i can ride that kite from 17 to 35mph. i think the 7 diesel matches perfectly to my 11fuel. the best nemesis 8m is also awsome but it doesnt start as early for me.

If your having problems with gusty conditions , get a globerider lift 9m. The kpo system allows the kite to twist open like a newer windsurfing sail.
Great for all size riders who want a kite with lots of range!

Check out the Peter Lynn kites for gusty high wind conditions. They are stable and absorb the gusts. Most fun I've had in high winds is on my Bomba . I have LEI kites in the bigger sizes but for a small kite I prefer the twinskins. Last years model, to be had at a bargain, will make you happy. Probably the Bomba 8.5, Phantom 9 or Guerilla 10 at your weight. Or the more expensive Venom 8.

yagar 7 best small kite I have tried. Globeride is also nice and handle gusts well. I would go for the yagar my self as it's so cheap you could get a 7 and a 5 for the cost of one other kite

go with the diesel 7m they perform in the lulls and are the best kite round in gusty conditions plus you can go big on them in 30+ knots well that is for me 70kg ( dont know what that is in pounds )
