so the season has started and my tennis elbow was back in no time, faster than ever.

i already switched to a kitebrand with low steering forces,
and i'm using voltaren.


but is there any remedy for tennis elbows that really works and does not include not kiting for longer periods of time?

1. dont ride underpowered.....
2. dont jump or do power moves on your first 2-3 tacks....

The old 'power steering bridals' we used to put on the big AR5's and ARX's work wonders....they remove almost all steering forces.....but....

You loose the feeling of the kite, steering pressure at the bar, and feel for where the kite is....in other words they destroy the personality of the kite....

however if it is the differnce between kiting and not...if your bad elbows are debilitating...you make the choice.

Diesels are quite soft on steering forces with the Autopilot thingy...

Things I've found that work, not necessarily all together
;-)

Ride unhooked
Rig the kite on Inner LE pigs
Shorten your fronts by 2cm, or lengthen bakcs by same
Shorten your depower throw down to 18-15cm
Hold the bar in the middle
Work out if you haven't got it
use a Tenis elbow armband if you have

Medicine, 400mg naproxin sodium twice a day, rub elbow painfull area 15 min twice a day, It should hurt when you do this, and wear a arm band when kiting. May have to try this therapy for a month or two.
Worked for me.

get a real hard massage on the musscles on that arm, you will be jumping and crying, but after two days you can kite again.

I used to be a tennis instructor and had star camps with Lennard Bergelin, former coach of Björn Borg. We played with harder tennis balls then at home, but had our string tension like home, meaning a harder impact in your arms. Once I got a tennis elbow as well, but had to teach, so Lennard did that hard massage on my arm. It is really lots of pain, but I was able to play the next day and after two days the whole pain was gone.

You need to have someone with strong hands and then massgae oil. He needs to feel the tension in your muscle and massage it away.

Currently I have a tennis elbow myself and try to massage it by my own, but is is not as good if someone does is it for you.

Ride powered never have to "work" the kite
use bigger board
hang one hand like "The Dangler" when reaching
Ibuprofen
use 55cm bar or longer
Have a bar that can lock so you are using it to steer and don't have to constantly pull in on it to sheet in
Use a modern kite with soft bar pressure

Toby is right.

My wife is a physio and she can hit those spots in my arm so that it brings tears to my eyes.

You can definitely find the spots in your arm on your own but it is easier if someone shows you first.

For maximum pain factor heat your arm up with a hot water bottle and then rub tiger balm into the spots.

It hurts so much you will definitely forget the tennis elbow.

thicker grip on the bar is supposed to help also. use hockey tape.
