Call me pessimistic, but who saw "Enemy of the state"?

The way to go? If you get this for free, try to imagine what is out there. Big Brother is watching YOU!!!

maps.google.com
that's the one which will be used since the GPS can be used for that easily, like currently with mapquest.

I'm planing something really nice to get more beaches, info etc.
If you submit a new beach, then you get something small, but really nice for free...working on it right now!

how come you are in that car and meanwhile in the internet?

a question: when I use earth ... I can't zoom that close, only for the US. Or is this the US?
Or do I have to upgrade for a service and pay to be able to zoom closer?

Thanks
Toby

Toby,

Chances are the area you're looking at doesn't have a high resolution map. Places that are out in the sticks tend to not be mapped in high resolution but cities almost always have a resolution of about 1m.

Earth Google

Don't get me wrong,
.......... this is extremely cool,

HOWEVER,

what is going to happen to the mystery of traveling to new places on this planet when some

thing, camera, probe, whatever,

has been there before?

..............Like a friend said after I'd moved into the heart of manhattan,

welcome to the last frontier.
(wink, wink)

With my gps transmitter beacon hidden in my wife's car,

and earth google,
I can find out every store she's been shopping at,

and every other dude she's been hawking.

Likewise, if I had a remote controlled airplane with a gps tracker,
I could fly it anywhere from my desktop.

Doesn''t take a big imagination to think of how the wrong people could do the same thing and wreck a lot of havok..

scary world out there. I'm gonna dig a big hole.

I have not jumped on the google earth site yet and was wondering what makes it so much better than the google maps satalite images?

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=portland, ... &t=k&hl=en

This is my local spot.
