Hey Alex (gumball). . .

hey how about instead of bashing other kites and trying to keep hyping the hellfish . . . why don't you take a step down. Admit that you screwed up and try to revive the company's reputaion. stop trying to hype things, stop trying to make excuses, step up to the plate and admit the failure. I fly best kite and really like them, so try to help the company and pull it out of the shit, cuz right now ur way over ur head in it. :thumb:
This is funny Gumball has found an internet connection and reappeared on the best forum >> to bash the crossbow. http://forum.bestkiteboarding.com/viewtopic.php?t=736 (BTW there's a few more pics of damaged HF over there if you're into that sort of thing )

The gee!-man's XBow summary includes:
* kite turns inside out (even with hard pumped bladder)
* slides in the turns
* kiteloop is a joke
* no power in downstroke (or in any turn)
* massive bar pressure
* different to fly (not good different)
* can't unspin the bar
* sheet out & fall like a rock
* zero hang time
---------------------------
* But it's a good beginner kite (full depower) and great for learning handlepasses.

He says "We prototyped a very similar kite over a year ago with the exact same results as the crossbow and decided not to pursue the design because it had too many disadvantages."
stop this shit, seriously

Interesting the owner of Best is out reviewing other kites.

Kite grom, Mosaic, ....

Just reinforcing your views. We have quite a few riders in St. Pete that "were" into Best. The most common sentiment here, as of now, is "why not just fess up, and quit making excuses". Seems the credibility level is down to zero. Possibly the BEST screw up I've seen in kiting in the last 5 years (since I started)...going from rising star, to class clown.

I personally was very down on the HF (8 weeks ago) due to Alex's extreme low wind claims from the beginning, and then his "backing out" of his own light wind challenge. Talking big, delivering little or disappearing....
This whole HF "drama" seems like a surreal circus dream in retrospect.

I agree that Alex is entitled to his opinion but I think Alex has a lot of nerve complaining about a kite that is relatively good compared to the HF which wasn't nearly as good as his hype of it.

Also, I think it is another ding against his credibility because from what I have seen of the Crossbow:
* kiteloop is a joke - It certainly is easy.
* no power in downstroke (or in any turn) - not if you sheet in
* massive bar pressure - fix on the way
* different to fly (not good different) - So is the HF.
* can't unspin the bar - Yes you can
* sheet out & fall like a rock - wrong
* zero hang time - Hang time is good with a big enough kite.

A prof once told me, if you are going to kill a king, kill him. Alex shouldn't have wasted his time and our time with petty bs about the Crossbow.

I would enjoy a review of the Speed from "Alex aka Gumball". Since that kite seems to be the closest thing to what he claimed the hellfish to be.

It's me again.

I think my biggest issue with Alex complaining about the Crossfire is the implication that the HF is better. What HF? The latest word is they need to work on the design for a couple more months so we have no idea what the next HFwill be like. A Crossbow in the hand is worth two HF in the bush.
