Fuel 17 vs Machine 17.5

Postby sslater » Wed Oct 05, 2005 6:01 pm

Has anyone flown both and how do they compare in terms of low end, turning speed, overall fun. Is there a big difference?

You'll have to wait until we've flown the '06 17m Fuel as that one is a LOT different to an '04 or '05.
They've made the three main struts shorter but the wing tips are wider so it will be a lot different on the water.

I'll post a review once I've ridden one :thumb:

Yes, there is a huge difference. I can't think of anything the Fuel does better than the Machine - and I'm sort of surprised to see it continue in the '06 lineup (must be some big advances). Probably the Fuel is more robust in heavy conditions, and folds up into a smaller package.

In terms of low wind, high wind, up wind, hang time, and turning speed - my vote goes to the Machine. Stick to Fuels 13 and smaller.
