... on same holidays I mentioned earlier after a massive all day kite session, tired drunk and hungry we stumbling back to hotel when my son meets up with his other grom mate and ask if they can grab dinner back at the beach,,, yeah yeah, be back by 9pm,,,, ok thanks,, so off they go.
Next morning getting ready for another big day, I trip over a wet pair of shorts out the front of the hotel on the floor, all wet and soggy. Hmmm, how did they get here, must have dropped em. I ask my son what happened to his shorts and he sort of "ahhhh not sure ". Off to the beach we go. Later on while waiting for the wind to pick up one of the locals says to me they found my sons board. Ummm, I didn't know it was missing I say to him. "Oh, he went for a kite last night and left it near the water, we found it this morning about to float away!" W T F!
I ask my son again, did you go for a kite last night,,,,, long pause,,,, "yes I did", "and we put cylume sticks on the kite too,,, was way wicked and really windy" he blurted. I was upset but not for the resons you might think.
"Karl, why didn't you get me", I say to him. "Am I not in trouble", he asked. "Nah dude, just in trouble for not waking me up for a kite too,,, next time get me up too."
The little buggers went to dinner and the wind came back up, they decided to go out again for a sneaky night kite, especially since it was a good 20 knots,,,, why not they figured. Mind you, mum wasn't so easy on him, gave him a few angry words,,,, "just like your damn father" I heard her say! Oops! I told him if he's going to do a sneaky crime, better clean up ya mess and don't leave evidence behind!!!!
cheers,
Robbie
