and then.... the sky is the limit, as they say.
I am convinced and I have not even tried i yet. I am sure it will have a significant impact. As you say, people are not aware of it yet, but once the good riders start getting it out there in the open on the local beaches, people are going to start talking, they are going to be asking "what the hell is that guy using?" and "I want one of those"
I am getting a prototype to show around Israel, get some of the good riders opinions on it - make some noise!! Should be fun.

See you in the wind...

In a testival in Germany Ron Reimers is said to have just grabbed the Psycho for a ride and shown a lift and an air time twice as much as X2 riders at the same time!!! If this is true and reproduceable...

I have a pre production 9.5 here with me and I have seen the 6.5 and 15.5 in action.

They are truly amazing kites with incredible lift and hangtime AND easy relaunch!!!

I would expect Psycho like kites to stop growth of the tube kite segment in the mature kite markets. Larger tubes will be affected first, then medium sizes...

Jeez, you guys sound like maclots talking about the G5. When you start hyperventilating, grab a paper bag and breathe into it slowly. This hype is worse than the X2 PR copy.

to the ron reimers thing:

he jumped incedibly for the windrange.
that day, wind was getting stronger and stronger and the time he used it, wind was just enough for a 16m x2 to go upwind and jump without problems.
the 15.5 psycho looked like real fun by then.

one of the riders took a psycho instead of his warrior / mastair and told me, all his riding got confused, because his timing was ruined by the mauch longer airtime.

i hink flysurfer's done their homework and somehow reinvented the softkite
compared to the old speedair, these babies show some seroius airtime, perhaps more than high performance tubekites.

I'll second the 'hype' comment. I'll bet if we go back a few months and check out the first X2 postings, the same comments will be there. Heck, look at all the hype around the X10!
Still, I do wish I bought a Flysurfer as my light wind kite, and not a 2001 20m inflatable.

Jo or Anyone,

Will the Psycho 15.5 have a better low end than my Fs. MastAir 12?
For example I am 60 Kg what will be the minimum wind to plane with a floaty directional?
Just give me some idea for my next kite.

Hi Doc,
No idea mate,
I prefer a Mastair 12m for 1/2 price for lightwind, great kite if you can find one, haven't tried the Psycho, use a tube kite when it picks up.
You could ask Flysurfer or one of their dealers.
I think Flysurfer say the light wind range should be about the same as the Mastair, for the same sizes obviously, but the high wind range is way higher.
Personally I reckon that there probably won't be that much, (if any) difference between a Mastair 12 on 40m lines and a Psycho 15.5 on 30m lines in light wind.
Imo 40m lines on the big kite would slow it down and not change things much.
What do you think?

How low can you go now with the gear you're using?

Jo
