How has Tarifa been so far this summer after the ban of kites from Los Lances?
Is it possible to kite at all at Valdevaqueros or is it to crowded?
Has the number of kiters going to Tarifa decreased?
Is the ban strongly enforced?

Yeah the ban is heavily policed and they have also put a rescue boat out patroling the beaches and rescuing the odd person. Basically they have made things worse as the town beach is deserted with NOBODY on it at all, no kiters, no swimmers no tourists, no dogs looks wierd with 3 miles of empty beach.

Now everyone is pushed into two areas, one near Dos Mares Hotel and the other near the dunes. AND where do all the tourist want to be, yes watching the kiters, bloody stupid and more dangerous than it was in the 1st place.

I just came back from there and the people are saying that there are less people on the beach. I didnt experience a good Poinente day as it was blowing a strong Levante the whole time I was there.

We kited on Valdevaqueros with no problems, not too many people.

tarifa wasnt banned. Its got its beaches divided into dedicated areas (kite, windsurf and swimmer zones) and the zone around los lances is divided into kite schooling area and mixed area (kiting, swimmers and windsurfers).
However these zones are only in effect during the main season - come in september and you can kite everywhere.
Los lances isnt full with people but i wouldnt call it empty either. There are quite a few sunbathers there.
However Valdevaqueros really is unbearable during the weekends - too much kiters in a tiny zone AND a schooling area....

its not that much different from last year. The only time i have struggled to kite this August is when i have finished work late and I have got to the beach late.

The roads around Tarifa seem quieter.

People have been going to Los Can - its quite a trickiy place to kite so its been a bit messy - no doubt the touristas are going to f**k up access for us.

So, it is till legal to kite in the zone on Los Lances, marked with orange in the attched picture?

Or are the "Rules & Restrictions" for this beach on kitebeaches correct?
