I do not have any jump pic's with the P3 showing. But these are nice MotownSoul riding. Photographer is Hans, a local guy who shoots a lot of commercial and add stuff. This day was April 20th '07 and spring storms were still running our Stockholm area. Water was somewhere around 6-7 degr C and this mad guy comes swimming (!) with his huge Nikon D2X, massive wide angle lens and flash, all snug in water tight case.

Here's a neat one...
I love the light....
Ther was a thick cloud over the horizon with the sun behind it so I positioned myself so that the dark cloud would be reflected in the water surface...
It was a stoke of luck that I got it right

Looks like I'm riding on Chrome plated metal or a lake of Mercury :o

Man, about 50% of the photos are zoomed out cruising-photos, 30% you dont see the kite, 15% of the photos are nice pics and of them, 3% are really nice.

But most of them are soooo friikkin lame.

Don´t get me wrong, some of them are nice pics with lots of feeling, but most of them should not be qualified at all to be put here. Where are all the hot action pics that the whole contest is about?

You have a bit of a point here..
Well I will speak of myself but can I think a lot of us have the same problems.
-I can not hit the water as often as i want,
-I never have a photografer with me,
-once a year (when I'm lucky) there is a tourist, or my wife, taking pics (and they (she) don't really know when to shoot...or what...)
-When I of a mate have a camera with us we al think the same and stay out and forget the time.. "hey we had a camera with us.. well better luck next time"
-etc etc .. 8)
-almost forget: no wind for 2 weeks now..

BTW one should have very good equipment for quilified pics or (and) a very lucky shooter
Maybe an idea to extend the contest?

The equipment can be quite modest.
The photos I have submitted are taken with a small point and shoot that costs about $ 230.
Today digital gear is quite amazing.
Probably the most important thing after weather conditions is positioning.
Both rider and kiter have to work hard at that. Around here the best way to get good light is for the photographer to be out on the water and the kiter between the photographer and the beach. Early in the morning would be different, but there nearly never wind in the morning.
A photographer that will put up with photographing a kiter is generally a kiter...but then he will want to ride if the wind becomes really good for shooting....... damn addictive sport.

Cheers

Fred

OK, these ones are not really qualified either. At least the P3:s are visible.

Some of my shoots from Nordic Masters in Sälen, Sweden. I think one the unnamed riders is Johannes. (Hit reply if you know who they are)

I just got my P3 13 so don't have any pictures yet (and that I'm not that good). Now looking for a good deal on a P3 8....

/Daniel
