I'm planning a holiday from January to April (2008) in Mazatlan, Mexico. It's still a far way off, but I was wondering if there was much of a kiting community. What are the usual sizes for these months? Do people kite there?

U should take the ferry from Mazatlan to La PAZ and then ride in La Ventana!
I did it last year and the people were so friendly on the ferry.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm already planning something like that  . Even getting my gf into kiting just so she won't get bored while I'm there.

Thanks for the reply!

I just saw this post
I was there for a week in mid Nov. Not a place I would choose to go and kite but of the 6 days I was there I could have used my 14m 3 days. It blew side on at Cerritos Beach. Plenty of room to launch and land. Not a kite in sight.

Santacruz, Any more info on kiting at Mazatlan? I'm planning a trip with my family for next year. I will bring my surfboards, but I wondering if I should also bring some kites to do some wave kiting also.

Hey Guys, i had forgotten to log back on to this thread, i have been crazy with work here in Culiacan, but i have gone kiting a couple weekends and there are some amazing spots around here, just 40-60 min from Culiacan. The wind depends completely on north cold fronts, and does not last very long. The beaches are sandy and mostly flat/choppy water. There is one wave spot at Nuevo Altata.

How has the kiting been in Mazatlan Logan, i now know a guy who kites and lives there.

Cheers
Andy
