contra 07 wind range

I'm 66 kg with 136X39 board.

Want to know what is the contra cabrinha 07 size 17 windrange.

Someone have this kite?

I got the 14m2, 70kg,and got a similar size board. I doubt you need anything bigger than the 14m2, the 17m2 will most likely only be slower...Using my 14m2 from 5 to 9/10ms where I switch to my SB 9m2.

If you want to kite in the 8 to 10knots... u will really have to go for a bigger board ie maybe a surfboard/skimboard as this is really light wind and ur current ride with either the 17m and 14m contra will most likely be a downwind experience. I too am 66kg and have tested both kites which are great for light wind but for true light wind riding u will need the other ingredient which is a board ideal for light winds.
I haven't tested both kites back to back so i dont really know how much more low end the 17m has. The 17m being the bigger does turn slower as expected due to its size but that being said, once u are on the move it does what it is designed to do and truck u along with a solid feel in light winds.
I personally prefer to ride smaller kites (being a lighter rider) therefore if i had to buy one of the two it would be the 14m contra, even though i would probably sacrifice a few knots.

14 for your weight will be like a freight train!! In fact you'll probably be running it depowered a fair bit if the winds up at 14 - 16 knots

17 I wouldn't bother, that's alot of kite for a small guy!!

would a 14m be good for someone of maybe about possibly 50-54 kgs for winds in the 8-14 knots range? (i can use a 123cm twintip or a 5,3 strapped surfboard)

With 50kg you should be on a 10-12m in light winds. On a surfboard even smaller.

I am 90 Kg: only muscle
I have a Contra 14 and a Spleen Door 64 and I ride starting 12 knots.

For 8-12 I use a Flysurfer 17 Speed.

So at 66kg with a Contra 17, well you will for sure learn how to edge your board :-;

Hey, I weight 65kg and fly a North Vegas 12m 2006 model with a North 125 young blood board in 8knots of wind. Now this is not known to be a light wing kite, so the Contra which is a light wind kite should work awsome, I cant imagine going higher than 12m.

I have a contra 17 and with the Glide I can get my 90kg moving in about 10mph and have ridden it up to 25mph on a smaller board. For your weight I wouldn't recommend anything bigger than the 14. My general rule of thumb is if the kite will stay in the air I can ride. If it is falling out of the sky I can't so I don't think you would gain anything by going to the 17 and you would lose top end. The 14 is a better flying kite as well.
