New Takoon Furia

Hi,

I just tried the new furia in 13m². I had e-Nova 12 and 7. The kite is plenty of power, turn super fast for such a size (faster than Nova 2 12 which is good for turning). The kite is really dedicated for unhooked in 15knots (wind I tried) when the back bridle is located at the "trickest" attachment (this is a tuning on the kite, which is really easy to change). The quality is better than Nova 2 with new bumpers, thin struts, good reinforcement on the elbow.
What change a lot is the kite is really grunty, the kite is really more agressive and rigid in the air and is perfect for tricks, due to turning speed and reactivity.
One good thing is the reactivity, the kite reacts immediately without any delay. My friend riding usually a vegas was impressed about this feature for a flat kite.

Concerning the bar, the system change a lot:
- new clam cleat, smaller one, which is really easy to use (easier than Nova 2 bar).
- the safety system is totally different because now you can connect the safety leash close to the chicken loop with the safety line connected to only one front flying line. A swivel is on the chicken loop like that you can rotate for the eternity:
- The bar is a total new system for a 4 lines kite because you have only one line for many meters instead of 3 front lines, after this line is divided per 2 to have the 2 front lines, this is difficult to explain but the bar is far away the best of the market concerning technology (integrated leash, one line) and the finish with a new grip, winders which with you can tune the bar size: 55cm and 47cm.
A lot of trimming is available on the kite for tricks or waves?

What is the gain compare to other kites:
-depower same as takoon reference
- turning ability: more than a vegas
- grunty kite: perfect for good jumps
- reactivity: no delay on bar movement

The only thing I would like to change is the NTS box which is a little big, but during riding I don't care, only for the looking.
This kite is from my test the first 08 kite, and it is absolutely perfect. A huge step for performance :thumb:
I just received the 11 and I'll let you know first comments on this size.

There is a problem with the link on your page, Bru. You have the hyperlink for the photos set to:

http://www.ocean2air.co.za/html/equipme ... uriaph.htm

instead of (there seems to be a duplicate in the url, its easy to spot)

http://www.ocean2air.co.za/html/equipme ... uriaph.htm

When will you have a chance to compare them side by side with the new F-one?

We rode the 11 and 13m2 yesterday too, for 7 hours.

In totally flat water, in small chop, and in sideshore clean waves (great to have all setups at the same spot 8) )

An awesome kite - as it is a flat kite with C feel (with 4 lines/bridles), just like in the "pimping" ads for so many kites.
A very good "in between" flat kites and C kites.

And with 5 lines, it changes and becomes such a direct and responsive kite, which can be used in competition f.ex, for those who prefer this.

It does not have the same extreme range and ease and might not have the same lifetime strength like the Nova2 of course - but it performs soooo excellent :thumb:

But it is by far the best kite I've ever flown, as it gives you both worlds, somewhat - or you can change/choose :P

Relaunches backwards or on its side like flat kites.
Power and turning and acceleration like fast C kites.

More testing the following weeks.
The competition guys has also tested and are really satisfied - lots of power in loops, and still controllable in everything.

REALLY happy rigth now :thumb:
Lets see over time, when the first "stoke" has settled - how it is.
It is always like that with new better kites - they impress sometimes even more than is for real - time will tell

Kindly, Peter Frank

Hmmm ... it's looking very good.
Very curious to hear what the low end of the 13 is compared to that of the Nova2 12.

low end is a little better than the Nova 2 12 which is a good low wind kite.
I must gain 1 or 2 knots, but the feel is totally different because the kite is so fast, now I can say faster than any 12m kite I tried (including C-shape).
I didn't tried the 5th line, but don't need it because the kite is really good.
Well done takoon! :thumb:
