Travel Bag For Spleene Door 164?

Postby K2ripper » Thu Aug 09, 2007 1:38 am

Looking for a travel bag big enough to fit my Door 164 x 45, but not a surfboard bag. Won't fit in a "golf" bag. The downside of a Door is how to pack when travelling and avoiding paying an extra charge for a surfboard  .

Did you try a Snowboard travel bag? Most airlines let you bring one piece of "snowboard/ski" equipment for free. It let me bring my UG 152 with me.

It is too wide for a normal Snowboard travel bag.

I use a cabrinha bag (the big one) with wheel.
I have been honest with the people at the checkin. I just say
that is a "Kite board" and if they do not understand immediately what I am speaking about, I add quickly that it is like a snowboard just a bit wider.

I am carfull to avoid any words like "surf", "windsurf". One time they look in a kind of document that listed the type of fret and decided finally that it came under the sction of "snowboard " and I did not have to pay for any extra.

If I understand well, they are afraid to carry something fragile as if its breaks during the flight, they are responsible.

heya.. i've got a 165cm cabrinha bag on ebay right now.. its much larger than i need for my current setup.

its a great bag, durable and quality build.

I kinda hate when people flood posts with ebay links.. but here's my auction if you are interested.

no one has bid on it. if you want to make me an offer, PM me.
as long as no one has bid on it I am cool w/ ending the auction.

I'll take a look, already have a similar roller bag for travel, just not wide enough, maybe I'll buy yours and sell mine. Thanks.
