I think for many who use a pulley bar, one of the advantages is that it actually doesn't sheet. This serves for cleaner transition between hooked/unhooked riding, push/pull steering and general simplicity. Love the pulley bar for unhooked wave riding.

I know one guy who is so old fashioned that all he flies are pulley bars and he's so old fashioned that he even kites while wearing a tophat.
The pulley bar never went out of style; when the chicken loop came along style just went out of kiting.
Fixed bars forever and take your fucking straps off
How's that for tolerant?[/url]

I used to ride pulley, and I was thinking about going back to it.
The problem I see, now, is that the wipeouts will put a lot more stress on the leash because on a standard suicide leashed bar, the kite depowers a bit when you drop it.

run a seperate leash line up to centerlines and through bar to a metal ring?
One thing cool about Tophats set ups is that he has a seperate pulley bar for each kite and adjusts the triangle length so that all kites from 4 to 9m turn at the same speed (all about like a fast 7m) Probably giving away all his secrets but we need more people to open their minds to kites and bars that actually fly well if this sport is going to stop going sideways.

having another line up to a metal ring defeats the purpose of having a pulley bar. i just fly my 4 line kites on 2 lines with a simple conversion bar i rigged up, does away with pulleys and lines wearing out completely, oh and it looks cooler.
