Hey everybody,
I was wondering if anyone had any trashed kites they would care to donate to my school. I am an elementary school teacher, with bad proofreading and grammar skills working on a project in which our kids make clothes for other less fortunate kids. I would reimburse for postage if anyone would like to send any my way. I would be genuinely delighted and know the kids would too. Please let me know if you are interested.
Thanks

Just a little old fashioned skepticism here. I have a few old kites I would like to send to "a elementary school teacher." Ignoring the bad grammar for now. But I wonder, would an elementary school teacher not know how to spell the word "psyched?"

But he/she said that he/she would reimburse me on the postage at 5 times what it actually cost if I would simply accept their check and mail them back the difference, plus the kites...... They would distribute them to the elementary school students via E-Bay after a cheap repair job... let's see... get a trashed kite for free plus the overage amount from the bogus check,, do a $35 repair, and sell the kite on E-Bay for $!00. Could be what they were thinking....

If you really are an elementary school teacher, don't give up so easily. Can anyone vouch for pbbb3 as a real, live, caring elementary school teacher?

Wind I hope you're kidding. This is obviously an absolute scam if they're asking you to dink around with checks and reimbursements and such nonsense. Absolutely do not deal with these pricks at all. I guarantee, 100% scam. School teachers know how to spell words like "psych."

No, pbbb3 didn't ask for anything. I was using hyperbole as a form of humor by construing a ficticious scenario portraying such an obvious scam that no one would ever come close to falling for it. Major apologies if anyone took my exaggerated satire as serious. pbbb3 has not done anything yet that qualifies as a scam potential.
I was serious, however, in asking if anyone would vouch for him/her. If someone who is a regular poster vouches for him/her then that's good enough for me to think that he/she is probably on the level.
What kind of clothes would you make from trashed kites? Wind breakers?
