Slingshot REV bombproof: NOT!!!!

Postby bart123 » Fri Nov 30, 2007 3:14 pm

1. normal crash (no kiteloop) will open entry valve. had it many many times, after crash always go make to shore and check
2. after 2 weeks of use one of the pigtails of the fontbridile broke during normal session
3. letters of bar are already falling of
4. QR chickenloop opens to easy, ie by daggling leash, or simple stroke of hand
5. depower rope wears quickly

Though I am very happy with flying characteristics and relaunch I would not put my money on this kite during for long stay/holiday somewhere out of reach of (repair)shop

ein? I find bart's information objective and valuable.

He is not bashing, he's stating proven facts.

1. Image

2. Cant help...
3, Well.. not good.
4. well known. The Smartloop from Naish fits the SS bar perfect, 2 guys here use it on their bar.
5. The SS rope looks bad, but holds on for a long time.. remember to wash it in water every time you go to the water.

Nice kite for freeryde, beginner freestyle. Very nice feel, and easy waterstart. I like it..

This is an open forum and I wonder why every time somebody says something apart from " wow this kite is the best ever " others start accusing him/her from bashing ....

Get real people ...

No kite is perfect

its not that the kites have faults. they all have because of how they are used. its how the manufacturer responds to these problems. although i am fed up with companies using us kiters as testers and then when there are issues not giving us the back up.

companies should either spend the money on RnD or on warranty issues.

funny, just putting my experiences with ss rev on a well maintained forum and being put away as a basher. This year we have to pay more for ss because of being so called more bombproof, well according to the sellers, i.e. asking 1400 euro for a kite

Being in brazil it did simply not withstand its name. And yes, warranty is perfect, but that is simply not the case. I do not want to pay more for not proven bombproofness IF THATS NOT THAT THE CASE

Sitting here in brazil and finding ways to solve the descriped issues is kind of disappointing experience.

Lot of money for less! ANd yes i am still happy with rev how they fly and relaunch, but iam simply disappointed with their issues AND promised quality.

ps not looking for SS minded comments, valid arguments would be better.
