Kenya advice

Postby peterbjarke » Sat Dec 22, 2007 12:39 am

I am planning a 2 to 3 week kite holiday in Kenya from late January and i would like some advice form people who have been there.

1: From what I can read the wind should be ok. Can you confirm that? And what sizes of kites should I bring? I am 73 kg and have kites in size 7, 9 and 12 (Naish and Cabrinha flat kites).

2. Can't decide between Nyali, Diana and Galu beach. Any advice?

3. Accomodation: What can you recommed? When I do a search is seems quite expensive, 100 USD per nignt and up. I just need something simple but safe with a private bath.

Hope someone can help .

:D

I was there last year around the same time and had decent wind in Diani. Bring your bigish kites though. As I recall I was using 15 & 12.

Another spot worth looking into is Cheshale which is up the coast a couple of hours. It is amazing, much nicer and more laid back than Diani (doesn't feel like a resort town).

Cheshale

Have fun, and make sure you go see some of the animals running around the countryside.
