hi guys can anybody please comment on ION 2 upwind performance.
I got realy good deal 12.5 , and today i had my first 1 hour session. was around 18 knots I mean kite is brilliant, but upwind , it just wasnt angle im used to. I had 4 line setup, does upwind improves with 5th line.
Is it just me not used new kite (can feel it flys significantly diff from what i was used to on rebel) or is possibly something wrong with set up.
i know this is ion3 topic , but since we waiting for info anybody cares to comment.

I also got to try a new Ion2 6m yesterday and also found the upwind poor and the steering heavy and slow !! Winds mostly 30-45mph and using high depower bridle setting. The jumping was also poor compared to my 9m Ion1.
How have other people found the small 6m?...and with which bridle setting.
Looks like a windy weekend here in UK so should be able to test 6m again with high performance setting...and will get back to you.
If anyone else has the 6m I would be greatfull for any comments. Si.

did you try depowering your kite a little bit. i dont understand why you guys are having trouble going upwind on your ion twos. for me they rocket upwind like no other. go fly an old c kite for a week get your edging skills back up and you should be the furthest upwind all the time after all you are flying FLEXI the pimpest gear out.

I fly 9&12m Ion1 and fly up wind, no problem with edging!!... Back lines are slightly longer than fronts so dont think I was stalling the kite and did try to depower but then did not have enough power on the lulls. I have not had a problem with the other size Ion2 I have flown...which is why I wondered how other people have found the little 6m and which bridle position they use.
Si.

The 6m Ion2 should be fine for going upwind. I prefer them on the low wind setting (i.e. rearmost front line connection point) makes it more grunty and bar pressure slightly lighter. I just had my first session on the 7m Ion3... most hangtime I've ever had on a 7m kite... wicked but I'm not gonna start (continue) pimping
