I'm glad I'm coming across loud and clear, Weren't you there with Wayne when we offered to beat him to death for being a total nob? WGTJH wrote: ...I kite with Wayne all the time ... I think so, you forget maybe eh? (we haven't) you can launch there on North, it's a little messy but doable, I'd recommend you throw your board in at south point and do the flying rotor entry at the north point and pick your board up after things settle down a tad...

I have over 50 days at MOJAVE and I don't even live there! You have not kited 50 days in your 65 year old life marty! Am I a nob for choosing to slowly bodydrag by all the swimmers or should I of stayed up on my board and cruised by within a few feet of all the swimmers like the locals were doing? I was trying to be courtious and prevent conflict, By landing slowly. And this is what I get. I haven't seen mojave on kitebeaches.com could you help me with that!

Wow, sorry to hear the place has gone that far down hill. We had a lot of fun there over the years with a boat launch and stopping by to see the gang at Six Mile. Everyone was very friendly and fun to hang with. We used to try and launch from beaches away from the cove and then tow out on the boat and launch students or ourselves. We beach launched at numerous other beaches with the boats assist to drop off and often launched as Six Mile with recomendations of the crew. Hope you guys have some new spots to hit hearing this. What a bummer. We had done downwinders of many, many miles numerous times. Gusts in the middle of the lake as you headed past the boat launch into the canyons could get pretty crazy but boosts were huge and there was not chance of hitting anything but water. What great times. Sometimes the water would be showing no wind but it would be blowing at kite line length and we would tow up our kites behind the boat and procede on downwinders and just trade the kite and board off between the friends on the boat. June Gloom and Gray May time here provided the perfect excuse to head out there. All the best to you guys and hope the spot cleans up. Warm water and the tree on the other side of the lake you would tuck under like a permanent barrel, will always make us grin.

Just a quick note...
The Vegas Village militia is approachable and helpful with local kiting conditions. Just check in with the locals and they will be helpful to avoid these difficult conditions. And Please show some respect it goes a long way, especially if you plan to kite there. Were a tight group, some wound up tighter than others...
