when you get here call - 098666991
call them at least a couple of days in advance.
they have a boat and they take you to the middle of the sea of gallilee and teach you there.
very experienced guys.
it costs a bit more but at june only the sea of galilee and Eilat are spots with wind.
maybe a day a week at the med coast... if you're lucky.
if you'll need any help while you're here you can Email me at
eldadgold@gmail.com
have fun !

Haifa has great beaches, but I don’t know specifically about wind. The Sea of Galilee (Kineret) and Eilat are blessed with wind. The Sea of Galilee is much closer to Haifa.
The city next to the Sea of Galilee is Tiberius, and there are places to stay there because it’s a tourist destination (mostly for religious reasons).
Its very easy to get there by bus. Israel has a huge bus system that is very efficient and not expensive, great when you don’t have car. You can take a bus from central bus station in Haifa to Tiberius easily. I went on a bus to Eilat and put a bag with a board and two kites in the trunk of the bus.
You can also rent a car, but it’s a lot more expensive. Check out with the school where they meet with you. If its where you stay, you got lucky.

no facilities at the diamond beach where we kite at the kineret but you can stay at TVERIA (tiberius)
and probably catch a bus to DIAMOND beach (also known as korsi beach).
when you get here write at kitesite.co.il a topic asking about where is best to stay for kiting at the KINERET. i know that a lot of younger kiters used to rent rooms for cheap at some kibutzes near diamond beach and hitch-hiked with kiters coming from all over the country. if i were you i would take a tent and just camp on the beach.
kited at diamond today- 25 knt steady from 14:30 till past 17:00
again- when you get here feel free to email me.
and don't forget to chek our local forum, you'll see that people here are very helpfull.
good winds

the thing is, i don't have any equipment so i depend on a kite-school or something like it. i'd really love to go to diamond/korsi beach but do you think i can rent equipment somewhere there? if you have, please send me a number of a school/shop where i could ask.
cheers and good winds for everybody!

call the number i gave you - 09-8666991
or contact them here-
http://kiteaway.co.il/gallery/content.p ... MAodg2g2ZA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
i couldn't find the page in english but click the second row from top - that's the "contact us"
if someone will rent you equipment at the KINERET it will be them.
but if you're going to kite for a few days then maybe it will be better to buy used.
a 2006 10m kite is about 300$ used and a 2006 board is about 500$ so after you get an offer for renting do the math.

Eldad... How did you get to those prices?????
the Shekel / Dollar rate is about 3.5
What resonable 2006 kite can you buy for 1000 shekels?
and a board..... well there is always Yhonatan Naim's Jaime Pro board which can be bought for that price

hey guna -
all of the above is correct (exept the prices given - a bit on the low side ...)
you have another option in Haifa itself ,
there is a school in haifa called "KITECLUB" , they give lessons in Bat galim (the time of year is the season in batgalim) , including boat excursions and pickup . wind blows nearley every day .
check out
http://www.kiteclub.net .
feel free to write me on
osodov@gmail.com,
we'll love to see you here ,
