After the success of our wave clinics in Australia, we are hitting the West Coast of the USA on our SMACK IT UP coaching tour. We start in San Francisco and hit all the good spots down to San Diego.

Ben and his coaching team will be hitting the West Coast of USA in August to run a series of wave riding clinics. Bookings are essential and places are limited.



Dates and Locations

1.San Francisco 6.7 August
2 San Francisco – 8,9 August
3. Santa Cruz– 10,11 August
4. LA - 12,13 August
5. San Diego / Huntington 14,15 August

Each clinic runs for 1 full day but has a second day allocated if conditions are not suitable on day 1.



Prerequisite skills This is a not a beginner clinic. You must be able to Stay upwind, ride heelside and toeside, have full kite control, able to water relaunch etc and be preferably riding a directional board or ready to start riding one. How it Works The clinic is a mix of theory and riding sessions. In the theory sessions Ben uses video footage to explain different concepts. The riding sessions begin with an initial assessment of your skill level. You are then grouped with riders of similar ability and will receive coaching based on your needs. Each person will have the opportunity to get some one on one coaching with Ben during the clinic.You will also have the opportunity to test ride the latest SLINGSHOT kites and boards.

What's the wind and wave-conditions in july-august in that area?

Wind on the Central/Northern CA coast is still very consistent In August averaging 20+ and blowing for weeks at a time, but there is probably less of a chance for any real swell during that time of year than any other. A south swell is possible (maybe 25% chance), but I suppose if you're learning, then 3-5 foot windswell is what you really want.

Wish they'd come up to Oregon - best time for wind and plenty of swell during that time. We've got side offshore conditions at a number of jetty breaks and potential conditions that would be hard to pass up! I know there's plenty of people that would be into it.

I am the co - ordinator of the coaching clinics with Ben Wilson
We are on a bit of tight schedule but if you wanted to drum up some interest and got some numbers we could maybre hit Oregen before we start the San Fran dates.
Ben raves about the wind and swell on the coast near the gorge where he does testing on the boards.

Maybe contact your local SLingshot dealer and ask them to help gaher some numbers.

Worst case scenario is we can come your way next time.

If you gentleman pass up the PNW, you just might pass up the best waves of the tour. Sounds awsome guys, hope to see you one day on the Oregon Coast or in the Gorge one day as well for a little different kind of wave action. Like at the wall.

Isn't Ben Wilson going to the wave riding event in Nelscott? Can he do a clinic there? Is he coming down to So Cal for his tour? How do I sign up? Is private coaching possible I have a large wallet. Can he give me tips on riding my TT in the surf? Is the equipment included with the cost of the clinic?
