Nobile 555 kites

Postby Bradders » Tue May 27, 2008 4:07 pm

Had a quick go on the 555 12m at the weekend
Really nice kite, fast through the air, good forward speed,
Turning was really direct and positive, quite fast but not too fast.
No back stalling whatsoever in turns
Bar pressure was light to medium, canopy was taught no fluttering at all
really fun and easy to use, quick and lively kite.
It was between 15 to 20 knots steady wind, I'm 90kg and I think The kite wind range for me would be 15 knots upto 25-30 depending on experience, 20 knots been the sweet spot.

Has anyone else had experience on these kites in other sizes
and any idea of wind ranges.

I have the kite in 10mts (won it on the forum) but did not have the right conditions yet to test it.
Kite is black white red, turns real fast, but that is about all till the wind picks up.

I would compare it to a Slingshot Rev in terms of being solid looking in the air, quick turning, and easy to fly..... but it has less power and a smaller range of use than the Rev. It doesn't really generate much forward pull so it requires more movement at the low end of it's wind range to get up and going. QR is kinda slick-just snaps back together to reset. :D

I took a spin on the 12m on 4 line mode and thought it turned well. I was not use to the light bar pressure but I think you can adjust that. The wind died just after a few laps so I did not get to jump with it and be well powered.

I was very impressed with the release and wondering about the c-loop but found it to be nice. Very out of the box thinking that seems to work but I only had the chance to quickly check it out and take the rig for a spin. I think they got a winner and would like to put more time on it and put that bar to the test.
