The new
Windfinder SuperForecast now also covers North America. It is based on the same weather prediction models as Windfinder's SuperForecast for Europe. The North American SuperForecast comes in hourly time steps with a horizontal resolution of 12km. The new North American SuperForecast introduces new weather parameters like relative humidity, type of precipitation and perceived temperature. The forecast is updated four times a day at about 3.30, 9.30, 15.30 and 21.30 o'clock UTC time.
The North american SuperForecast covers the United States, southern Canada, Mexico and parts of the Carribbean as you can see on the map below.

To access the SuperForecast, just go to your local wind report or forecast (e.g.
Cape Hatteras,
Cabarete). Then you will see a link to the SuperForecast on the top right side. After opening the SuperForecast, you'll see the wind and weather forecast from 7 to 21 o'clock local time, but this can be expanded with clicking on the "Show night hours" button.
We will add some new features to the SuperForecast:
- Provide forecast maps for regions in Europe and North America
- More forecast spots at popular kite- and windsurf beaches
- Even higher resolution weather models
At the moment, the SuperForecast is tested and may still contain bugs or be inaccurate. If you have any suggestions or comments, feel free to send a mail to
info@windfinder.com or just reply to this thread. We are happy to receive feedback from you.
Best regards,
Jonas
