Micro Kitefoil board build with test at end

Postby fleetrico » Sat Apr 08, 2023 4:01 am

I wanted to build something to force better foot placement during tacks as I found my self putting my foot closer to the mid section of the deck .Figured a few months on this and the pocket board will feel massive and I will have built better muscle memory .

Nice! A slight redesign to allow for easy disassembly could make this AMAZING for travel. And maybe even add on an optional attachable bottom sheet (with drainage holes) to allow for better post-jump recovery and not getting swamped by chop/swell. If you really wanted to get fancy...different front plates to have options for length and rocker changes!

Cool idea for a foil board!

Great ideas !! When I started this build it was originally going to be for travel and able to be broken down into just parts using slingshots phantasm barrel nuts in the foot plates but as I got further into it I figured a prototype for function would prbly be a good idea before I tossed a few days and 100$ in to it . The next one will brake down and fit into a mast bag and kite bag for travel for sure .I will be building a center cover from nylon webbing so I can test it for jumps but really I like that I will have to learn to land without using the board as a decelerator.

That looks cool as hell, though I don’t think I’d want to whoops my way into a board up my crotch at speed! Awesome concept.

"Outch my ballz !!" I'm sure it could happen but this board is pretty small my foot actually will touch both rails on the middle comfortably ... Not saying it isn't a possibility but I don't think it would fit around my knee .I will post a vid when It happens though for your entertainment !

Clever design and build! :thumb:

There was a micro design with a spine - but it wasn't designed for switching feet.
