Yo! Tomorrow we are expecting quite a bit of wind. 35 - 40. While its dangerous to go out in this, with a 7m torch or 6.5 m gypsy it should be good for an experienced rider. If its too nuking, i think i'll call it but if its OK I am planning on a session.

I am going to try out short lines 17m (minus extensions) and the gypsy. Any tips for tuning in high winds. I was planning on riding stock. Back lines on the tighter knot as I found that the gypsy flies better when back lines are a bit tighter.

Will report back tomorrow!

My wife had some hindenburg probs with the gypsy the other day. Changed to Fast front and back and the kite is much better behaved - tends to drift back now. If you try this setting, let us know how you go.

wow. 30 - 40 on the gypsy was great, super stable and comfortable with other's on 7's, great for jumping. Did not unhook...too scared :)

Ended up using the standard lines. What a great time, next time short.

Lake michigan gave up a great session.

I hope this clears things up a bit. Hit me up with any questions, if I can't answer it, I will find out and get back to you.

Peace

Wondamic - thanx for the pics! What setting is the best for HINDENBURG prevention?

Don't get me wrong, I love the kite(s) - fast moving, nice power delivery, depower etc., but a kite hindenburging is a design flaw that could seriously injure someone badly!

Thanks again!

If you are out in conditions you can't control the kite in, maybe that is a problem.

As far as I know there is no kite that stays in the air when you get shot throught the whitewater with slack lines, and/or ditch the kite (like you already said you did).
Are you sure you didn't trash your kite and now want to raise a stink in hope of a free repair?

No offense, just asking since you keep posting and getting the same responses.
Maybe the kite is wrong; on the other hand maybe someone is just a  troll.
Except the one guy, folks seem to love it. :bye:
